On Wednesday, September 4th, Richards High School seniors gathered on Korhonen Field for the annual Senior Sunrise, a tradition that marks the beginning of their final year. From 6 a.m. to 8 a.m., the Class of 2025 watched the sunrise together, celebrating the start of their senior year. Organized by Ms. Swanson and the Student Council, the event saw a great turnout, with many students arriving in cozy pajamas and blankets, capturing memorable photos with their classmates with Class of 2025 frames and “4 years later…” signs made by Ms. Swanson and the Student Council. A coffee cart offering iced coffee in a variety of flavors was also available to all who attended. The “Senior Sunrise” is a cherished tradition in schools across the country, symbolizing the start of the school year and offering a moment to reflect on the years spent together. Though a newer tradition at HLR, its success this year will hopefully inspire future senior classes to continue it.
