- Prioritizing time management is essential. You can use planners or apps such as “Notes” to organize your assignments, tests and deadlines.
- Breakdown large tasks into smaller steps. This will help you stay productive and not feel overwhelmed and stressed out if you happen to have a lot of work.
- Participate and be active in class. This will allow the material that you learn to root into your brain. You will remember more about what you learn and you can progress through different topics at a rapid pace.
- Develop effective study habits. Studying does not mean you sit around for hours looking over all your notes or class work. All you need to do to study successfully for a majority of tests you will have at Richard’s is briefly look over your class work and review your notes.
- Do not ignore homework. Homework is not fun and is probably the thing you want to do least at home, but you must complete it. This is because it allows what you are learning to be cemented in your mind by repetition. It will greatly strengthen your understanding of the topics that you learn and discuss in class.
