As everybody knows, the 2024 election results have led former president Donald Trump back in office beginning in January. Whether you support the results, some of you may be wondering what this could mean for the next 4 years. Donald Trump’s victory would likely lead to the reimplementation of many of the policies from his first term, including tax cuts for corporations and individuals, deregulation of various industries, and a more restrictive stance on immigration. Trump has often emphasized the importance of strengthening the U.S. economy through supply-side economic policies, which he argues would create jobs and stimulate growth, particularly in manufacturing and energy sectors. However, this could also widen income inequality and potentially reduce the resources available for social programs aimed at lower-income Americans.

Trump’s victory would also likely result in significant changes to the healthcare system. One of his signature campaign promises in the past was the repeal of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), and a second term could see renewed efforts to dismantle or replace it with a more market-driven approach. This would likely mean fewer protections for individuals with pre-existing conditions and a greater reliance on private insurance markets, which could leave millions of Americans without affordable healthcare. Additionally, Trump’s stance on social programs like Medicaid and Medicare could result in cuts or reforms that would affect vulnerable populations, sparking concern among seniors and lower-income families.
