Six Steps for Seniors to Succesfully Transition from High School to College:

  1. Research colleges. Find colleges that you like and what type of environment you want to be in. Find places that interest you or make you feel welcome. Go on their websites and learn about the college.

      2. Collect your transcripts and activity resumes so you can send them to colleges precisely when they need them.

     3. Complete FAFSA and apply for all the scholarships you can so you can get as much help and money as possible. This will benefit you in numerous ways, allowing you to choose from more schools and by lessening the chance that you are overwhelmed in debt when you graduate college.

     4. Visit and apply to colleges. Visit them so you can find the right one for you and apply to all of the ones you want, there is no downside because you may just be accepted.

     5. Follow up on applications that you are seriously interested in. You need to make the colleges know who you are, talk to them and make sure they get to your applications.

     6. Finally make a decision and finalize enrollment. It’s pretty simple and make sure you stay organized and keep track of dates so you don’t miss anything important.
