This past Saturday, on October 19th your Bulldogs ran wild. After becoming the second fastest team in school history at the legendary Detweiler Park in Peoria, Illinois, the Dogs dominated at the SSC Red Conference Meet. Five out of the seven varsity runners received SSC Red All-Conference honors. Sophomore Santiago Carbajal led the pack taking 2nd in a time of 15:58, Sophomore James O’Shea right behind him at 3rd. Senior Aimen Bawadi in 5th, Junior Shawn Mallo in 8th, and Senior Eric Villalobos in 9th. Followed by Sophomore Anthony Villalobos in 12th, and Senior Angel Ramirez in 13th, both barely missing the top ten All-Conference mark. As a result, the Bulldogs secured the SSC Red Championship and took back their title as the top dogs in the south suburban area.
However, the success didn’t end there. The Men’s Junior Varsity team also secured the championship and also had five of their seven runners earn junior varsity All-Conference honors. Leo Flores in 3rd, Emilio Alvina in 4th, Michael Vegas in 5th, Diego Carrillo in 6th, and James Ratliff in 9th. In addition, Junior Landon Arias and Freshman James Narbone took 1st and 2nd in the Men’s and Women Open race!
And still, the success isn’t over! Our Lady Bulldogs were led by Senior Rina Haziri who finished 7th among the Varsity Girls and earned herself All-Conference honors. Following this success, Freshman Sierra Vahl secured 2nd in the Junior Varsity race and earned JV All-Conference honors, respectively.

The Bulldogs will now take on Regionals on Saturday at Katherine Legge Park in Hinsdale, Illinois. The Men’s Varsity will run at 9:00 am and the Girls Varsity will run at 10 am. If I know anything about this team, they will continue to dominate and bring home some more hardware. Let’s go Bulldogs!
